Jakarta ( also Djakarta or DKI Jakarta ),
formerly known as sunda kelapa,jayakarta and batavia is the
capital and largest city of indonesia. Located on the northwest
coast of the island of java, it has an area of 661.52 km2
and a population of 8,792,000 (2004)
Jakarta has been develoved for more than 490 years and currently
is the eleventh largest city and metropolitan area and ninth
most desenly populated city in the word with 44,283 people
per sq mile. its metropolitan are is called jabotabek and
contains more than 23 million people, and it is part of an
even larger jakarta - bandung megapolis. in 2001, GRDP of
DKI Jakarta based on current price reached Rp. 219.86 trillion.
The Contributed sectors that accounted 2001 GRDP were transportation
& communication (24.66%),services (17.08%0, trade ,restaurant
and hotel (16.86%). This make for an incredibly interesting
region to explore the strategic and creative inputs needed
